General Description |
The 35m² ground floor open-plan studio was upgraded in 2005 and is well furnished and decorated with new or hand crafted furniture.
The thick stone exterior walls ensure that the chalet is insulated from the summer heat and well protected against the winter cold. It is centrally heated throughout.
The studio is traditionally decorated and furnished with coordinated fabrics. If you do not wish to bring bed linen with you we will provide crisp cotton bed linen. This will be changed every Saturday if your stay extends to two weeks or longer, for no extra charge.
Kitchen
The fitted pine kitchen with tiled work and floor surfaces is equipped with a full size oven and fridge, electric hotplates, copper hob and extractor fan, and a table and chairs. All necessary crockery and cooking utensils are provided including an electric kettle, toaster and coffee percolator. We can provide speciality cooking apparatus for fondues (cheese or meat), pierrade (meat) or raclette (cheese).
An iron and ironing board are provided.
When you've enjoyed your meal at the table or the 10 foot long wood and stone clad breakfast bar, relax on the sofa with tea and biscuits and catch up on world news or watch tomorrow's weather with French or English television on the limited satellite service (CNN and Eurosport in English). There is also a large bookshelf of English books to read while soaking up some sun in the garden.
If you arrive early evening and perhaps not in time (or in the mood) to go to the supermarket, we can provide you with all of the following, depending on your choice of rental (ie. Basic or all-in).
Bathroom
The large tiled shower room with WC is fitted with a striking hand-made pine sink unit. There is a constant supply of hot water.
If you do not wish to bring along your own towels, we can provide luxury hand and bath towels and face flannels. These are changed every additional Saturday of your stay for no extra charge.
And so that nothing has been forgotten, we can provide basic toiletries such as: liquid soap, shower gel, toilet paper, paper hankies and cotton buds. A hair dryer is also provided.
The Garden
So now that you have finally arrived and showered, enjoy the last of the evening sun on the deck chairs, in the lawn garden or the shade of the forest garden. The garden.
From here you can plan tomorrow's adventure and sample the best of what the valley has to offer by referring to the extensive range of local brochures and tourist literature provided in our comprehensive tourist folder. And if you need any specialist advice or wish to venture into the higher altitudes, all your questions can be answered by Gilles, your French host who is a local mountain guide.
If you visit us in summer the window boxes will be in full bloom and hanging baskets and geraniums tumbling from every available vantage point around the whole chalet.
And if after all that, you still need convincing, then read our client testimonials
section. The originals can be read in our guest book when you arrive - and we
hope to include yours at the end of your stay!
