Chamonix Mont-Blanc (altitude 1035m) is a mountain resort in the French Alps lying at the foot of Mont-Blanc, Europe's highest mountain, on the apex of the Swiss and Italian borders. It is a lively and cosmopolitan town with a permanent population of around 11,000 made up of 26 nationalities. This year-round sporting playground offers a host of activities from tennis, golf, walking and riding to handgliding and mountain biking in the summer. The winter season is just as dynamic with a huge range of on and off piste skiing.
Our traditional Swiss style chalet 'Le Four à Chaux' (altitude 1150m) was built at the end of the 1980's on what was an old lime stone mill at the foot of the Les Bossons glacier. Using stone blocks and timber and with the necessary double roof to hold the tons of wet winter snow, the chalet sits in 1400m² of private grounds and is well sheltered by pine forest, ensuring almost complete privacy.
The town of Chamonix
is made up of several small hamlets of which Les
Bossons is one. Our chalet is only 2.5km from Chamonix,
giving you quick and easy access to the town, Les Houches, the Mont-Blanc tunnel to Italy,
or down the valley to Megève and Geneva. However we would recommend a car to make full use of all the wonderful places to visit.
